OneWorld Community Health Centers, Inc. is a dynamic, multi-specialty clinic whose mission is to provide culturally respectful, quality health care with special attention to the underserved. OneWorld was recognized as the 2008 Non-Profit of the Year by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and the Organization of the Year by the South Omaha Neighborhood Association (SONA). We are a high performing clinic with a strong on-going commitment to performance improvement.
OneWorld (formerly the Indian Chicano Health Center) began as a free health clinic in 1971, and was initially run by volunteer physicians. In recent years, OneWorld has grown considerably, and now staffs over 140 and serves over 13,000 people on an annual basis. In 2005, OneWorld moved its programs and services into the Historic Livestock Exchange Building on 30th and L Streets in South Omaha, expanding its space to nearly 40,000 square feet. In 2008, OneWorld opened a second location in Plattsmouth, NE – Cass Family Medicine.
The OneWorld family of health centers is the leader in Douglas, Sarpy and Cass counties, providing affordable primary health care in English, Spanish and over seventeen other languages. Our heath care is holistic and patient centered, and includes support services such as the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) food program, breastfeeding classes, social work, case management and diabetic support groups as well as access to affordable medication.
