Professional Veterinary Products, Ltd. (PVPL) began in 1982 when five veterinarians got together to increase their purchasing power. The company incorporated later that year with veterinarians from 73 practices in four sates. Dr. Lionel Reilly, who now serves as President & CEO, was hired to manage the operations – from taking and shipping orders to replenishing stock to invoicing and crediting accounts to sweeping up at night. As the first employee, he did it all. Credit for the company’s success goes to its unique concept: owned by veterinarians, managed by veterinarians, for the good of veterinarians.

PVPL is a distribution and resource network for veterinarians. The company’s corporate headquarters and main distribution center are located in Omaha, Nebraska; a second distribution center is located in York, Pennsylvania; a third is opening in the fall of 2005 in Hereford, Texas.
