Phenomblue, an internationally re-known interactive brand experience agency, is searching for an imaginative and energetic Director of User Experience to help craft cutting edge digital experiences for some of the biggest advertising agencies and brands in the world.           

The Director of User Experience will be responsible for the oversight of user research and testing, interaction design, and information architecture, and overall creative direction for all of our projects.  The UX Director works closely with the technology team to develop user-centric interactive brand experiences, oversees the organizational and professional development of a growing team of interaction designers, usability engineers and visual designers, evangelizes user-centered design and consults with clients and the broader organization.

This position is based in Omaha, NE.  Moderate travel is required.  Phenomblue will not cover re-location expenses for this position.

Responsibilities:

« Collaborate with interaction designers, usability designers, graphic designers, business partners, and developers, to design the user interface, information architecture and interaction design across all our projects.

« Provide leadership, management and supervision as needed to the UX team.

« Communicate and evangelize about user centered design and customer interaction.

« Participate in all aspects of user experience design as needed to provide expertise and guidance. This participation may include conducting usability tests, analyzing and presenting findings, conducting contextual inquiry, leading working sessions and developing blue prints/wireframes.

« Stay abreast of advances within the interactive/digital mediums (both technical and experiential) and look for ways to appropriately integrate these advances into our portfolio.

« Ensure integration of efforts by staying informed of major initiatives, collaborating with peers to combine efforts, and creating synergies where appropriate.

« Demonstrated leadership experience in User Experience Design with deep expertise in interaction design, information architecture, usability engineering or all three.

« Demonstrated skill motivating a team.

« Solid understanding of web and mobile technology, including technical capabilities and limitations

« Expert understanding of methods for designing easy to use interfaces, including user and task analysis, information architecture, interface design, heuristic evaluation, and usability testing.

« Demonstrated ability to document designs in scenarios, workflows, site architectures, interaction notes, and page template/wireframe formats.

« 5-7 years experience with information architecture, interaction design, and usability testing of websites, intranets, and/or web-based products and services

« Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to consensus on design decisions

« Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
