ABOUT NEBRASKA CHILDREN’S HOME

Imagine an organization whose one and only purpose is to do what is best for the child…an organization that builds hope on a daily basis.

Welcome to Nebraska Children’s Home Society. We are a licensed private, non-sectarian, non-profit child agency focused on providing safe and loving care to children of all ages.

Upholding adoption as a positive way of growing families continues to be the primary mission of Nebraska Children’s Home Society in its 111-year tradition of meeting the needs of Nebraska’s children. Every member of the adoption process has one simple and common goal: putting the needs of the child first. Our offices, located in nine cities throughout Nebraska, offer the following services:

  • Ongoing support and education for anyone dealing with an unplanned pregnancy
  • Ongoing adoption education, support and placement services
  • Preparation and life-long support for adoptive children and families
  • Post-legal adoption services
  • Temporary and traditional foster care services, including medically fragile foster care
  • Nebraska Children’s Home Society Day Cares utilizing the New Behaviors program – Our unique daycare program focused on strengthening children’s social, academic and life skills. Day Care is available for children infant to 7 years old.”
OUR MISSION

The Nebraska Children’s Home Society provides safe and loving care to children of all ages.

Nebraska Children’s Home Society provides care through our three main programs: our statewide Adoption Program , which includes our services to those who are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy , Foster Care for primarily medically fragile children, and through our Nebraska Children’s Home Day Cares, focused on strengthening children’s social, academic and life skills.

Nebraska Children’s Home Society also provides the following services:

  • Special needs adoption services
  • “Adoption University”, a 5-day high school curriculum that raises awareness about adoption among our young people. We also offer a 2-day middle school curriculum program.
  • Search services connecting birth parents and children placed through our agency
At Nebraska Children’s Home Society, we adhere to a flexible approach in order to help solve problems and meet the needs of those who turn to us. We don’t make people conform to our list of services. Rather, our services are tailored to the situation and the people involved in order to provide the greatest benefit for each child.

If you’d like to learn more about us, feel free to browse our website and learn about our programs. In addition, visit the NCHS Foundation website to learn how you can support our services and get involved.
