The State Medical Society of Wisconsin formed Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation (WPS) in 1946 to provide medical and surgical insurance for state residents. Now, as one of the top ten insurance carriers in Wisconsin, we offer a full range of health benefit plans to both group and individual markets, self-funded benefits administration, technology expertise through our ETS division and ancillary products through our subsidiary, The EPIC Life Insurance Company. In addition, WPS administers the Medicare Part B program for Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota. WPS also processes claims for military personnel and in all foreign countries through the Dept of Defense’s TRICARE and TRICARE for Life programs.
