Fuchs Machinery began in 1923 on the corner of 10th and Farnam streets indowntown Omaha. The firm sold and serviced industrial products and contractors’ equipment.
Machine tool, industrial supply and welding equipment product lines were established as the firm grew over the years.
The company remained in downtown Omaha until 1954, when a 30,000 square foot building was erected on North 11th Street. From the mid ’50s through the ’80s the company served the expanding industrial market.
In 1991 Fuchs moved to a new distribution center in Spring Valley Industrial Park, just off Interstate 80 and 60th Street. This state of the art facility, with over 40,000 square feet, is designed to meet the needs of the company and our customers through- out the ’90s and beyond.
Fuchs has expanded over the years by opening sales offices in Grand Island and Lincoln, Nebraska, Sioux City, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The sales territory of the company currently includes all of Nebraska, western and central Iowa, and southeast South Dakota.
In 1987, Fuchs purchased the Richard Ives Company in Denver, Colorado. This full service facility provides machine tools and other industrial products throughout the Rocky Mountain States.
As Fuchs Machinery has grown, it has developed several departments to service the manufacturing industry. The firm currently has sales and service specialists in industrial tooling and supplies, machine tools, safety equipment and welding equipment.
