Position Description
HDR is a highly successful employee owned firm that has been in business for over 90 years. We are a top 20 ENR firm, with a great history of successfully serving Transportation and Municipal clients in California and across the United States.

The primary duty of the Right-Of-Way Sr.

PM/Program Builder is to market and execute California real estate services to our clients. Will work closely with the National Real Estate Services Director, Regional and Local Transportation Directors, and ROW staff to develop various size pursuits in California. Encompasses developing leads, preproposal visitations, proposal preparation, presentations and negotiations. Will also work on and manage ROW projects. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Works with the Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and the Department Manager for project reviews and with company management on an as needed basis. Typically supervises project teams and acts as a mentor for less experienced ROW staff. This position could be located in other HDR locations in California. The ideal candidate will have established long-term relationships with clients at California Transportation Agencies and local/municipal agencies in performing Right of Way/Real Estate services. Must have experience working with CALTRANS or other public agencies in California, performing ROW and real estate services.



Valid California real estate license and college degree or equivalent required; advanced degree helpful.



10+ years of experience with right-of-way acquisition, relocation, utility relocation and/or property management preferred.

Applicant must be familiar with Uniform Relocation Act and Eminent Domain proceedings. Position requires ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients; strong communication and presentation skills.



Must have proven Management experience in ROW projects, ROW staff management and ROW client management



Ability to deal effectively with property owners on fast track projects; ability to motivate and manage staff and proficiency with MS Office.
