About this Opportunity:
As a Fixed Income Intern, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, performing data entry, and working on other specially assigned projects to support the Fixed Income Traders and Analysts. The Intern will provide support across portfolio management, credit research, trading, and operational functions. The Intern will also contribute to recurring and ad-hoc reporting, client communications, and special projects, ensuring optimal portfolio performance and alignment with client needs. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.
The work schedule is onsite, Monday through Friday, at our Provo, UT office, with an expected commitment of approximately 15-30 hours per week.
In this role, you'll get to:
Assist in trade execution and management of Fixed Income SMAs, including new portfolio investments, cash reinvestment processes, and special client request handling
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on the credit quality of companies, including creating tear-sheets and making formal buy/hold/sell recommendations to the Credit Committee, and help track these recommendations
Support Portfolio Managers in managing the risk of the portfolios (credit, duration, concentration, liquidity, industry, special exposure requests, etc.)
Communicate with clients regarding withdrawals, investment needs, and portfolio performance
Aid in documenting transactions and learn about settlement processes with custodians and brokers
Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the Fixed Income Committee and clients
Learn about industry regulations and client-specific guidelines, assisting in compliance checks
We're looking for talent who:
Has a foundational knowledge of fixed income concepts, including yield, duration, and convexity
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Possesses intermediate proficiency in Excel and willingness to learn Bloomberg
Has excellent teamwork and communication skills
Shows an eagerness to learn and solve problems
Has the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks
Obtains Orion Industry Certification
Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Salary Range:
$13.37 - $18.27The pay listed in this posting indicates the estimated pay at the time of this posting; however, may vary depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
