AECOM is seeking an Environmental Specialist to be based in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee air monitoring for asbestos abatement, lead and mold remediation activities to ensure compliance with regulations and project requirements.
Manage hazardous materials documentation, including process implementation and data management, to maintain accurate records and reports.
Develop, manage, and perform QA/QC for data and documentation entered into Maximo and all other relevant client information systems.
Collaborate with Healthy Homes/LHC and Comprehensive Modernization program staff to track the status of lead abatement workplans, clearances, and exemptions in apartments and common areas.
Coordinate with stakeholders, including management, contractors, and subcontractors, by organizing site meetings, developing scopes of work, and implementing project schedules as assigned.
Provide training to Comprehensive Modernization program staff and contractors on the documentation review and QA/QC process to ensure consistent quality and compliance. Performing air monitoring for asbestos abatement, lead and mold remediation activities.
Investigating indoor air quality and related water intrusion events.
Conducting job site health & safety inspections.
Performing routine site inspections, collecting bulk samples and creating reports according to applicable State and Federal protocols.
Interacting with management, contractors & sub-contractors, coordinating site meetings, developing scopes of work and implementing project schedules, as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Preferred Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred in performing asbestos, lead paint, IAQ, water intrusion/mold, general industrial hygiene, and facility-related abatement project monitoring and inspections.
Good oral and written communication skills.
EPA AHERA / NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector, Project Designer, Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician.
NYSDOL Mold Assessor.
NJ/EPA/NY Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,000.00 - $130,000.00.
