If so, this role is for you. As the Site Financial Officer, you are the backbone of Boys Town's success when it comes to ensuring our operations are running successfully and smoothly. You will work on keeping the financial statements in order, and work with the Executive Director and program teams helping them refine and build their businesses to better serve youth and families. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Develops and implements finance related short-term objectives and long-term goals of assigned Site consistent with organizational goals.

  • Handles finance and business office operations / functions of the Site including but not limited to financial statement accuracy (GAAP basis) and analysis, variance to budget reporting, proforma and budget financial statement preparation, forecasting, KPI analysis, audits, purchasing card expenses analysis, contract invoicing, agency and board reporting, contracts and leases, petty cash reconciliation, among other financial reporting and tasks,

  • Business office functions support, as needed, include but are not limited to assistance with time keeping/payroll, basic IT tasks, banking, corporate annual reports, business licenses including sales and use taxes and vehicle registrations, etc.

  • Participates as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making, efficiency improvements, and overall site financial management.

  • Attends and presents financial reports and insights at monthly leadership meetings, providing clear and actionable recommendations to drive site performance.

  • Works closely with other departments to ensure financial alignment and support for site-wide initiatives and projects.

  • Collaborates with other leaders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the companys financial goals and objectives.

  • Coordinates and manage financial aspects of site events, ensuring budget adherence and financial oversight.

  • Actively participates in board meetings, presenting financial updates and contributing to strategic discussions.

  • Attends events and serves on behalf of the leadership team, representing the sites financial interests and leadership vision.

  • Develops and institutes initiatives in line with strategic objectives and goals.

  • Coordinates activities of the major program areas and adapts and revises strategic plans as necessary.

  • Hires, manages, trains and evaluates assigned personnel

  • Communicates regularly with state and local agencies and organizations regarding contracts and grants and compliance requirements.

  • Works with on-site team to help organize and support third party services needed at the Site.

  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal contract regulations and licensing requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization. Knowledge of organizational strategies and ability to apply those strategies in practice.

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem- solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to handle and evolve with changing business environments, structures and systems.

  • Ability to successfully lead a team of associates.

  • Knowledge of financial practices, principles, and regulatory requirements.

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office with extensive use of Excel

  • Ability to successfully manage the quality and content of all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.

  • Ability to set priorities, multi-task, and switch focus in a fast-paced environment.

  • Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.

  • Ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience including financial management required.

  • Intermediate Excel skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understands GAAP and non-profit accounting preferred.

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.

  • Prior use and understanding of Workday and Office Connect preferred.

  • CPA preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
