The CE Adjunct Instructor â?? Construction is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating educational courses for individuals pursuing or advancing careers in the construction industry. These courses focus on developing technical skills, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards, and promoting professional growth within the construction field. The instructor will play a key role in preparing students to meet workforce demands and succeed in construction-related roles.
Design and deliver construction courses that align with Construction industry standards and safety regulations.
Stay updated on state and national code
Stay updated on advancements in construction practices, tools, and materials, as well as OSHA and other applicable safety standards.
Conduct engaging and hands-on training sessions, both in-person and online, to meet diverse learning needs.
Ensure all courses comply with applicable state and federal guidelines for continuing education credits and certifications.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for course approval and reporting to regulatory or accrediting bodies.
Evaluate the effectiveness of courses through student feedback, assessments, and industry feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Serve as a resource for students by providing mentorship, career advice, and support in achieving their goals.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Travel to IWCC Centers and other training sites as necessary.
Demonstrates IWCCâ??s core mission, vision, and values.
Prompt & reliable attendance.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Extensive experience in the construction industry (5+ years preferred).
3-5 years of teaching experience (preferred)Â
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire adult learners.
Ability to pass a background check.
Evidence of specialized training or education, such as safety-related degrees, certifications, or demonstrated expertise in construction disciplines.
Participation in instructor development programs or equivalent training as necessary.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
For Safety, current OSHA card, train-the-trainer or instructor card, copy of safety-related degree or diploma
For code, copy of any license(s), evidence of having taught courses, evidence or current certification as an inspector or plans examiner, or evidence or other equivalent specialized training or education
For trade discipline(s), copy of any license(s), evidence of employment as a product representative with manufacturer training, evidence of having taught courses, or evidence of other equivalent specialized education or training?
