Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, this role is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day accounting and business functions of the
College’s 15 academic programs and four functional offices on multiple campuses including (but not limited to) accounting, contracts, human resources, compliance, and travel. Collates and analyses data, produces reports that convey financial information in visually appealing and easily understood charts. Works closely with college and program leadership to develop and monitor annual budgets and oversee the budget prep process. Provides training related to university accounting and human resources practices and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Supervises 4 – 5 staff members.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to problem solve by critically evaluating alternative courses of action and arriving at solutions that are best for both the unit/ college and UNMC.

2. Working knowledge of related technological resources/ software to include SAP and MS Office suite.

3. Demonstrated style of participatory leadership that fosters a climate of respect and collegiality to include competency regarding: conflict management, supervision, mentoring and team building.

4. Position requires regular and consistent attendance in the office.

5. Position may require occasional evening and weekend hours, travel within and outside of the state.

6. Proficiency in analytic reasoning to formulate budgets and administrative policies and processes.

7. Demonstrated understanding of regulatory framework and internal controls and ability to apply them within the business unit/college.

8. Knowledge of when to elevate an issue to a supervisor.
Preferred Education: Master's degree
